HOW TO AVOID A STITCH:

Top tips…

  1. Strengthen your core
  2. Avoid big meals right before running
  3. Focus on your breathing
  4. Warm up
  5. Stay hydrated

HOW TO OVERCOME A STITCH:

  1. Stop running, and touch your toes (apparently it works every time!)
  2. “Exhale deeply and push your stomach out” — Top tip from couch to 5k creator, Laura Hamzic
  3. Put pressure on the area and massage gently.
  4. Stop and stretch, leaning away from the side of the stitch.
